#revuptheranch

A beautiful and well-designed kitchen doesn’t always have to come attached with a hefty price tag and lengthy timelines. Sometimes, a re-imagining of your existing space is the best option and allows for the home’s original design to take center stage while freshening up the overall appeal. This is the case for our #cbbrevuptheranch project. Our client’s cozy kitchen had seen better days, and the mismatch of whites found in the original appliances, backsplash and cabinetry were proving to only enhance its lackluster (read: dingy) appearance instead of providing the light and bright work space she was craving.

Calm and Collected

After carefully weighing concerns about timeframe and budget, Ashley recommended our Kitchen Refresh Package, a great compromise to a full-scale renovation, that would help breathe new life into this hard-working space without starting from scratch (see what we did there!?). Our client was craving a calm, yet collected kitchen with nods to the warm, mid-century style she loved so much - the perfect combination to revitalize and renew her love for this quaint abode.

We selected a soothing color palette of warm whites and soft greens that would  instantly expand the kitchen visually. We had the main cabinetry, walls and surrounding trim painted in a tried and true favorite - Sherwin Williams Snowbound - a white with just enough grey to keep it warm. A terrazzo-look hexagon tile, installed as the kitchen’s backsplash, brings in a subtle mid-century vibe while the soft flecks of green and grey provide depth as well as the inspiration for the perfect muted green paint color for her pantry (Sherwin Williams Sea Salt). Aged brass hardware instantly gives depth and sophistication to the crisp backdrop of the fresh paint, and custom woven wood shades pull in additional warmth and texture.

Highlighting The Workspace

When working with a small footprint, it’s important to limit visual distractions as much as possible to allow the main design elements to take center stage. We opted to streamline the kitchen’s lighting plan by replacing mismatched fixtures with recessed lights that virtually disappear into the newly painted ceilings. We turned up the dial on function with sleek under cabinet lights that reflect off the new quartz countertops.

Selecting new luxury vinyl tile to replace the kitchen’s existing laminate floors is a durable as well as an economical solution to ceramic or porcelain tile, saving our client on hefty install costs. The new floors, chosen in a slate pattern call back to the home’s entryway slate tile, creating a cohesive feeling throughout.

Our client could not be happier with her newly reimagined kitchen! Our Kitchen Refresh Package was the perfect solution that allowed her the flexibility to keep her summer plans without feeling tied down to the commitment of a lengthy renovation process.
